The rise of cloud computing—within the enterprise (private cloud), with service providers (public cloud), and with combination solutions (hybrid cloud)—has established a need for tools that can manage cloud network infrastructure while constantly monitoring the health of cloud applications and infrastructure.
Even though public cloud service providers enable monitoring, there is a need for monitoring that’s customized according to specific business environments. Hybrid cloud deployments are being used to alleviate security and privacy concerns and satisfy regulatory requirements, but these deployments require aggregated management and monitoring frameworks.
AriCloud is a jumpstart framework for managing and monitoring business-critical cloud applications and infrastructure. It is a proven framework that supports the following features:

Key Components of the AriCloud Framework
User/Access Management:
- Acts as a gatekeeper and provides role-based identity and access management
- Maintains an audit trail for all actions performed across the platform
- Secures access using OAuth and IP whitelisting
- Integrates with external authentication system—exposes REST web service endpoints for authenticating users
Cloud Management:
- Easily create and manage the private cloud and public cloud instances, e.g., Amazon AWS instances
- Allocate/de-allocate instances to business units instantaneously
- Setup auto-scaling (scale-in and scale-out) rules that efficiently allocate capacity based on application and business needs
- Reduce server operations overheads to perform bulk server setup and configuration
Cloud Monitoring:
- Real-time graphs and reports covering the entire IT infrastructure (private cloud, AWS and corporate datacenter)
- Provides actionable intelligence to take measures before outages happen using our predictive analytics
- In-depth, multi-level reporting to analyze and optimize server resource allocation
- Utilizes the power of Hadoop, Storm and ElasticSearch to create more proactive and responsive cloud monitoring operations
- Equips the operations NOC with instantaneous and customizable alerts across delivery channels (web/email/SMS/iOS/Android/WP8)
Dashboard:
- Offers HTML, iOS, Android and WP8 interfaces for users to interact with AriCloud
- Uses web services from all AriCloud modules through user management
- Provides alerts and notifications for cloud management, cloud discovery and cloud monitoring
- Displays indicative as well as drill-down graphs, counters and reports
Alerts/Notifications:
- Alerts exposes REST web services for monitoring service to push alerts and notifications to users
- Alerts can be pushed out as email, or as iOS/Android/WP push notifications
- Maintains list of users and types of alerts to be sent to each user
Cloud Resource Discovery:
- Maintains registry of all cloud resources managed and monitored by AriCloud
- Syncs the registry to include all associated AWS resources
- Enables web services to add/update the registry entries
- Provides quick lookup of resources by client, resource type, region or cluster
- Offers an interface that monitors the status of resources
